This study is open to adults with depression (major depressive disorder) for whom standard treatment with antidepressants alone does not work sufficiently. The purpose of the trial is to find out whether a medicine called BI 1358894 helps to improve symptoms of depression. Four different doses of BI 1358894 are tested in the study. Participants continue their standard antidepressant therapy throughout the study. Participants are put into 6 groups by chance. Participants in 4 of the 6 groups take different doses of BI 1358894, and placebo. Participants in the fifth group take quetiapine, a medicine already used to treat depression, and placebo. Participants in the sixth group take placebo only. Participants take BI 1358894, quetiapine, or placebo as tablets twice a day. Placebo tablets look like BI 1358894 or quetiapine tablets but do not contain any medicine. Participants are in the study for about 3 months. During this time, they visit the study site about 8 times and get about 2 phone calls. At the visits, doctors ask participants about their symptoms. The results between the BI 1358894 groups, the quetiapine group, and the placebo group are then compared. The doctors also regularly check the general health of the participants.

This phase III trial studies how well trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) and tucatinib work in preventing breast cancer from coming back (relapsing) in patients with high risk, HER2 positive breast cancer. T-DM1 is a monoclonal antibody, called trastuzumab, linked to a chemotherapy drug, called DM1. Trastuzumab is a form of targeted therapy because it attaches to specific molecules (receptors) on the surface of cancer cells, known as HER2 receptors, and delivers DM1 to kill them. Tucatinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving T-DM1 and tucatinib may work better in preventing breast cancer from relapsing in patients with HER2 positive breast cancer compared to T-DM1 alone.

This phase III trial studies how well adding apalutamide, abiraterone acetate, and prednisone to the usual hormone therapy and radiation therapy works compared to the usual hormone therapy and radiation therapy in treating patients with node-positive prostate cancer after surgery. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-ray to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Androgens, or male sex hormones, can cause the growth of prostate cancer cells. Drugs, such as apalutamide, may help stop or slow the growth of prostate cancer cell growth by blocking the androgens. Abiraterone acetate blocks some of the enzymes needed for androgen production and may cause the death of prostate cancer cells that need androgens to grow. Prednisone may help abiraterone acetate work better by making tumor cells more sensitive to the drug. Adding apalutamide and abiraterone acetate with prednisone to the usual usual hormone therapy and radiation therapy after surgery may stabilize prostate cancer and prevent it from spreading or extend time without disease spreading compared to the usual approach.

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of triapine when given with radiation therapy and cisplatin in treating patients with stage IB2-IVA cervical or vaginal cancer. Triapine may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking an enzyme needed for cell growth. Cisplatin is a drug used in chemotherapy that kills cancer cells by damaging their deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and stopping them from dividing. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Adding triapine to standard treatment with cisplatin and radiation therapy may kill more cancer cells.

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of lenalidomide and blinatumomab when given together in treating patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma that has returned after a period of improvement (relapsed). Biological therapies, such as lenalidomide, use substances made from living organisms that may stimulate or suppress the immune system in different ways and stop cancer cells from growing. Blinatumomab is a monoclonal antibody that may interfere with the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread.

This randomized phase III trial studies lymph node dissection and radiation therapy to see how well it works compared to radiation therapy alone in treating patients with breast cancer previously treated with chemotherapy and surgery. Lymph node dissection may remove cancer cells that have spread to nearby lymph nodes in patients with breast cancer. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x rays or protons to kill tumor cells. It is not yet known if radiation therapy works better alone or with lymph node dissection in treating patients with breast cancer previously treated with chemotherapy and surgery.
